Waterproof
Tested under a pouring rain condition (in the shower - literally!) the shell fabric can be safely called waterproof. Our jackets have 5000 mm waterproof rating. The higher a jacket’s waterproof rating, the longer the fabric will remain waterproof.
This is where it fits in the waterproof department:

Windproof
A wind-resistant down jacket prevents heat loss from air convection. Windproof ratings are often measured in the amount of cubic feet per minute (CFM) or metres squared per second (m²/sec) of about a 30-mile-per-hour wind that can pass through one square measurement of the material. As such, a lower number show that the garment is more effective when it comes to blocking wind. At a wind speed of 30 miles per hour, our fabric is penetrated by 1 cfm of air.
Windproof Rating | Summary | Details/Condition |
60 CFM | Not Very Windproof | About as windproof as a cheap fleece |
20 CFM | Somewhat Windproof | As windproof as a good running top |
10 – 5 CFM | Moderately Windproof | About as windproof as a standard soft shell top or jacket – very wind-resistant |
1 CFM | Windproof | Not much wind is getting through the garment at all |
0 CFM / m²/sec | Completely windproof | The garment will completely protect you from the wind. 100% windproof |
